Hopefully, by now, I have gotten across the importance of first aid training to all of you. This is not just for shooters or hunters, or parents (I had to hook some food out of my 4 years olds choaking face last night) - but everyone - knowing what to do is 'basic dude stuff' as Patrick McNamara would say.
It was time to head away on another mini-adventure. While not necessarily looking for narly trails, I did want to at least get off tar-seal. So, after a bit of research online, I decided on a trip down to Raglan via Port Waikato.
Two of my oldest and very best friends have long worked at holiday camps. Previously the Parkiri Beach Holiday Camp, and more previously, the Hot Water Beach Top 10 Holiday Park. For many, many years I have tried to regularly escape Auckland out to see them, and in the last few, the girls have been coming along as well.
Took my little girl out for our first bush walk. We had been out before - but only around Mt Albert and Western Springs - this was the first decent walk with here in the backpack.
